Making the Point at High Point
Spring Market at High Point was amazing! Lots of cool finds for the home, along with shared insights from some knowledgeable experts. There was some very groovy people there talking their trade at the Antique & Design Center.
My look is a mix of vintage modern so I always check out BOBO Intriguing Objects for some vintage vibes.
Sleek modern ottomans were very tempting. I would have liked to put my feet up on them… you do a lot of walking at Market.
Me and the wonderful, gracious Barbara L. Dixon, the founding Editor-In-Chief for Elle Decor , former Managing Editor for Architectural Digest, and currently with VandM, Barbara gave a talk about the shelter publication industry and where the industry is heading. She shared ‘insider’ stories about the industry and some personal advice, ” follow your passion.”
Bill Indursky, Co-founder of VandM, one of the largest vintage and modern design websites, shared his expertise on design trend forecasting. He was sporting an eye grabbing pair of gold winged ‘statement’ shoes.
John (Jack) deLashmet, landscape architect and Garden Editor for Hamptons Magazine writes the column “Diary of a Mad Gardner”. Jack shared photo’s from his book “Hampton Gardens”. He said to have a beautiful garden you need three M’s ” money, manpower and manure”. Just makes you want to head to the garden shop to transform your yard. If only my yard could look that great – I’ve always been a dreamer!
I had a lovely lunch with Crystal Gentilello from Rue magazine who was a style spotter for the Market.
It was great to meet and hang out with Sheilah MacSporran, co-founder and CEO of Olioboard, a great new resource.
